A Rustic Dining Experience.

A real family meal is created by more than just food and family members meeting at a table. It is also created by the elements that went into creating the dinner setting.  There are a number of things that must come together to create a complete rustic dining experience.

First is the rustic dinnerware. Luckily, the popularity of the rustic theme has made cabin dinnerware and lodge dinnerware very easy to find. You can even set the whole table in one swoop by purchasing rustic dinnerware sets. Even rustic flatware comes in enough varieties to fit any dining space.

But what about the other items that need to be on the table? The warm and inviting tabletop display you have created with your country meal will be compromised if you are serving up food on Chinet plates.

Here are some of the other dining items you should think of having:

Serving Items – It ‘s not hard to find everything from serving platters and bowls to butter dishes and  salt and pepper shakers that have been created to go with your rustic theme. Often these are salt glazed pottery that look as if it could have been on a table of generations past.

Rustic Glassware and Pitchers – Even your drinks can do their part to keep to your rustic theme by using rustic glasses, steins and even martini glasses and pitchers that are etched with rustic designs.

Table Linen – A splash of burgundy, green, navy blue and other country colors will spice up the dinner table. Rustic linens come in colorful country quilt designs as well as cabin and lodge designs depicting animals and plants.

Bread Basket – There’s no better place to get a roll or piece of bread from than a real reed woven basket with a cloth napkin wrapped around them to keep them warm.

Candleholders – Why use regular electric lighting when you can add to the dinner atmosphere with rustic candleholders? For a simple lighting solution, there are many wrought iron designs, or if you want to keep your cabin or lodge theme going, you can consider antler candleholders.
